Gaia & Sol create a sacred space and open The Eye of Ra, that all may enter the world of Arachnos, where ye shall meet - not the Wyrd-sisters but other Beings who hold our dreams in their hands ..and Arachne the creatrix!
This ritual threads a magic that began 4 years ago, to the here and now, and will spin forth to the years ahead to 2012. It involves music, chanting, dance and weaving of our dreams! (-Mani)
Hall of Merlin:
Talks from experienced practitioners of Wyrd
12.30pm Blue Fox:
“A Druidic Wyrd”.
Blue Fox, Council Elder of the British Druid Order, discusses the traditional view of Wyrd as experienced in the animistic path of Druidism. The power of Wyrd draws out of the past to shape the present and lays before us a myriad of choices that lead us into the future. It is a power that connects us through time and across communities, making us all who we are and who we will be.
1.30 Francesca Ciancimino Howell, M.Phil
“The Green Web of Relationship”.
The first fundamental law of ecology is similar to a fundamental law of magic: everything is connected. The intricate inter-twinings of our world, our lives, our work and our relationships reach further and are more powerful than we may imagine. The web we weave and into which we are woven impacts not only our present, but also the future.
Francesca will examine interconnectedness and relationship, illustrating how these influence and can empower our magic. The talk will also share some of the down to Earth philosophies of green Paganism. Francesca is the author of “Making Magic with Gaia”. She is a PhD candidate in Religious Studies and a High Priestess of Wicca.
2.30 Katie Gerrard
“The Web of the Ancestors”
The threads of our personal web come out of the past. We will be looking at the Northern European concept of 'the ancestors' and other protective familial spirits (such as the Disir and personal Norns) and considering how to work with these concepts in modern Pagan practise. Katie is the author of “Odin’s Gateways”, an in-depth study of the Norse Runes.
